When elevator shaft space is limited, every millimeter matters.

Model Peak is a compact elevator structural solution developed by Metron, designed to maximize shaft space utilization while maintaining the required cabin dimensions and elevator performance.

For the same cabin dimensions, Model Peak can achieve:

· 200 mm less shaft width

· 50 mm less shaft depth

· 500 mm less overhead height

Three Core Innovations

1. Horizontal Gearless Machine

A compact horizontal gearless machine replaces the conventional vertical configuration. The traction sheave is reduced from Ø320 mm to Ø240 mm, helping reduce the required overhead height and improve shaft space efficiency.

2. Guide Rail-Mounted Machine Structure

The machine frame is fixed directly to the guide rails, eliminating the need for machine beams and structural wall openings. This simplifies installation and reduces construction requirements.

3. Compact Dual Counterweight Design

A non-standard dual counterweight pulley design reduces the counterweight width from 180 mm to 80 mm, releasing valuable shaft space and allowing a wider cabin under the same shaft conditions.

A Practical Example

For a 1000 kg / 1.0 m/s elevator with a 1600 × 1400 × 2300 mm cabin:

This means 200 mm of shaft width, 50 mm of shaft depth, and 500 mm of overhead height can be saved under the specified conditions.

Design Considerations

Because Model Peak uses a highly space-optimized structure, its installation requires more precise installation and higher technical expertise than conventional solutions.

The cabin design also has certain limitations. It is primarily suitable for stainless steel cabin finishes and is not recommended for wood-finish or full-glass panoramic cabins.
